Poppy Cheer
Over the weekend I was in my friends house and fell in love with these orange poppies, that she has growing throughout her garden. They are just so vibrant and cheerful, I couldn’t help but smile when I seen them.
They looked amazing in big sways through the herbaceous borders around her house. I particularly liked how great they contrasted against the rest of the flowers in the border which were mainly shades of blue, pink and yellow.
I hope to call back in a few weeks to collect some seed pods to propagate some for myself! I think they would make a great addition to the borders near my back door and add a much needed injection of colour.
BEYOND THE WILD GARDEN WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU!!
This week I plan to write a post on the flowers from my childhood. I want to explore all the flowers that I can remember admiring as a child and share them with you all. But I would love to hear from some of you and include some flowers that sum up your childhoods too.
What I want from you is a photo (if you have one) and a reason why you picked the flower you have! You can send them to me on twitter ( @DavidCorscadden) or feel free to email them to beyondthewildgarden@gmail.com . I plan to do my post by Friday but will continue to add your flowers until the end of the following week.
I look forward to hearing from you all!
What a beautiful flower. I have never seen an orange poppy like this one. When I was a kid there were bright orange poppies that grew wild in the field next to our home but they looked different than this one.
