An Afternoon of Tea and Cake
Well for me after a busy time in the garden there is nothing better than a great cup of tea and some cake. I think by this stage you all know how much of a fan I am of cake and let’s face it after working hard in the garden there is nothing better than an award of cake and baked goods.
I have been very busy in the garden and with college so as a treat I went to afternoon tea in Ariel House in Ballsbridge Dublin. This was my second visit to Ariel House for afternoon tea and it really is a great experience and the ultimate treat.
Ariel House is a fantastic hotel that is mere meters away from the Aviva Stadium and it offers an out of this world afternoon tea. On this occasion I visited with my mother, sister and our friend and used it as our get together to mark my Birthday as I was in a certain Secret Garden for my actual birthday.
I have raved about afternoon tea here ever since I made my first visit well over a year ago and it really is like a new experience each time you visit. This is thanks in part to the changing afternoon tea menu. The menu changes ever so slightly each time you visit with new treats and alternative twists on firm favourites.
The brilliant afternoon tea setting of fine china and lovely flowers is heightened by exceptional customer service you receive from the minute you walk in the door. On this trip I finally got to meet the lovely Deirdre who is the person behind Ariel House’s Twitter and Instagram accounts.
I would highly recommend a visit to Ariel House for afternoon tea if you find yourself in Dublin at any stage. In particular, as was the case when we visited, it makes a brilliant rainy day activity in Dublin. For those who will not find themselves in Dublin to enjoy afternoon tea anytime soon all it is not lost.
One of the main reasons I decided to write this post was to share Ariel House’s afternoon tea recipe booklet with you all. It can be found on their website and includes a number of their popular afternoon tea treats. More recipes can be found on their blog also. Now we can all enjoy afternoon tea in our own gardens which is one this I plan to do myself this summer.
Note: I was not asked to write this post by anyone. I enjoyed my experience at Ariel House and wanted to share it along with their online recipe booklet.
