A New Rose on the Block?!
After a long summer love affair with some delightful roses, I think I have moved on! Don’t worry though I am sure some lovely roses will creep up on my blog in the coming weeks as soon as these beauties have faded from the flower borders.
DayLilies are a great flower to have in a border to add some mid summer colour when other plants are beginning to fade and there is a lull before second flushes of flowers. Daylilies are an other flower that I have grown up with, in particular this lovely orange variety. I love how vivid its flowers are and how they stand out so clear in a border, even though they are relatively small compared to the plants around them.
In the past few weeks in both the Botanic Gardens Dublin and on a recent trip to Fota House and Garden in Cork, I came across some other great varieties. Having really only seen the one orange type before, I was amazed by the sheer spectrum of colours that are available for use colour hungry gardeners.
