An Old Family Friend
Since I have been a child the porch in this house has always been full with these lovely flowers. These are an other flower that should have a staring role in the Flowers of Childhood series. As I grew up my grandparents always had a spectacular display of them, some of the plants are even still sitting on the shelves today.
I think the fact I have grown up surrounded with them means they are a flower that is very special to me and also conjure up some extremely happy memories of my childhood and the time I spent with my grandparents.
But there is a big debate about what to call them. I have grown up calling them geraniums but to be fully correct they should be called Pelargonium. So I am interested to see what you call them?!
Truly beautiful…every single one!

Same here, I grew up surrounded by them, they are definitely one of my favourites from my childhood, and I continue to grow them. A lot of younger people unfortunately seem to think they are old fashioned! They are as so easy to grow and don’t need much watering – I think they will make a big comeback as soon as the water charges kick in LOL 🙂
