April Challenge – A Tree with a Difference

On a recent walk in Castletown House, which is undergoing major work at the moment, I found this extremely interesting tree. I love it because it is different and has a great magical feel to it when you are standing underneath it.

The tree is found along the main stream that runs from the right hand side of the house right down to the river Liffey. To me it looks as if the tree’s branch had grown down and rested on the ground for some time. It eventually took root and now a second tree grows from the branch. It is quite a sight in person!
